Creating JAVA Web Application/ deploying WAR file in Plesk 9

You can use Java Application packages for your web site in the Web archive format (WAR). To install a Java Application login into your Pleak Control Panel:

 

From your Home page, click on Applications in Right Side Menu and click on Java Applications tab.

 

Now click on Switch On, to enable the Tomcat service for your domain, which provides an environment for Java code to run in cooperation with a web server.

Click on Install Java Application.

Specify the path of an application package you wish to install (this is an application package in WAR format saved on your computer's hard drive), and click Browse to navigate to it, then clickOK to install your Application.

Now the application is installed and the respective entry is added to the list of installed Java applications (Applications > Java Applications).

To access the web interface of a Java Web application, do any of the following:

From your Home page, go to Applications > Java Applications tab, and click no the installed Application, it will open a new browser page for the application.

Type the URL in your browser e.g. http://www.yourdomain.com/webapplication1/


To stop, start or restart a Java Web application:

From your Home page, go to Applications > Java Applications tab. A list of installed applications will display. Select an application on the list, and use the icons in the right part of the list to perform the required operations:

To start an application, click the icon
To stop an application, click the icon
To restart an application, click the icon

To uninstall a Java application:

From your Home page, go to Web Applications > Java Applications tab. Select a check box corresponding to the application that you no longer need. Click   Remove, confirm the removal and click OK.

The application will be uninstalled and removed from the server.
